Scotsman Guide Magazine recently interviewed John G. Stevens, PRMG VP of National Retail Business Development and current NAMB President on the topic of whether or not mortgage brokers will survive industry change.

Stevens is a seasoned industry veteran, and 6-year NAMB Board of Directors member, whom is well known at a national and regional level for his high involvement within mortgage driven associations.  Past industry involvement includes President of Utah Association of Mortgage Brokers (UAMP) 2009 – 2010, Planning Commissioner of Pleasant Grove City, Planning Commissioner of Utah County, and Chair Member of Utah County Planning Commission, to name a few.

As a loyal activist of the broker community, Stevens stated “Our (NAMB’s) main focus has, and always will be, the brokers.  We are the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.  That is who we represent.  As time has progressed, obviously there are issues where we overlap with retail loan officers and bank loan officers.  Where those issues coincide with what is best for mortgage brokers, then we will help and support those issues as well.”

Today, the best interest of the broker community has become an elevated topic.  To that end, many lenders have always kept the best interest of the broker community at heart and will continue to support all associations that promote the well being of the accelerating broker arena.
